Carolina Caycedo

Carolina Caycedo transcends the studio, gallery, museum and institutional space to work in the social realm, where she participates in movements of solidary economies and territorial resistance. She is currently researching the effects of extractive economies and policies on rural public space, rivers, and the social and natural landscape in various bio-regions of the Americas. Caycedo has developed publicly engaging projects in Huila, Bogota, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Bogota, San Juan, New York, Madrid, Lisbon and London. She was a fellow in DAAD in Berlin in 2012, and grantee of “Rethinking Public Space" from Fondo del Príncipe Claus in 2013, Art Matters Grant in 2014, and Creative Capital Visual Arts Award in 2015.
