Ishmael Randall Weeks
Ishmael Randall Weeks (1976, Cusco Perú) received his BA from Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY (2000) and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2007). His work has been exhibited in numerous museums in Peru and abroad including: Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, UK; MoMA P.S. 1, NY; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC), Lima; Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires (CCEBA); the Drawing Center, NY; Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI); Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Rome (MACRO); Museum of Arts and Design, NY; Museo del Banco de La República, Colombia; la Fonazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena, Italy; The Drawing Room, London; Museo de Bellas Artes, Mexico City; The Bronx Museum of the Arts; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Randall Weeks’ work has also been included in the 10th Bienal de La Habana; the 9th Bienal de Cuenca; the 6th Bienal del Museo del Barrio; and as part of Dublin Contemporary in the National Gallery of Ireland.
Randall Weeks has received numerous grants, awards, and residency opportunities from institutions including: MACRO in Rome; the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, NY; Fundación MarAdentro, Chile; New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA); Art Matters, NY; Kiosko, Santa Cruz, Bolivia; and La Curtiduría: Espacio Contemporáneo para las Artes, Oaxaca. He is represented by Eleven Rivington Gallery, NY; Federica Schiavo Gallery, Rome; Arróniz Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City; and Revolver Galería, Lima.
Randall Weeks currently lives and works between Peru and Brooklyn, NY.
