Carmen Hernández

Carmen Hernández has a degree in Fine Arts from the UCV (Universidad Central de Venezuela 1994), a master's degree in Latin American Literature (Universidad Simón Bolívar, 2000) and a PhD in Social Sciences (UCV, 2008). She is a researcher in Latin American art, with curatorial and museological experience. The former director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas, she has taught at the UCV and the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador. Hernández collaborates with publications in national magazines and newspapers. She has published the books Desde el cuerpo: alegorías de lo femenino. Una visión del arte contemporáneo, Monteávila Editores, Caracas (2008), and Insubordinación: Diamela Eltit y Paz Errázuriz. Urgencia y emergencia de una nueva postura artística en el Chile Post-Golpe (1983-1994), Monte Ávila Editores, Caracas (2011), which have been recognized for their research value. She currently teaches at the Universidad Experimental de las Artes, Caracas, Venezuela and is co-editor of the independent web project Plataforma de Arte Contemporáneo: PAC http://plataformadearte.com.ve/
