Juan Carlos Verme
Juan Carlos Verme is an entrepreneur and investor. He is also a private collector of contemporary art and an active participant in educational and cultural projects in Lima and Latin America. Since 2005, Verme has been President of the Board of Trustees of the Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI). He has also been Board Member, Treasurer and Vice President of the Asociación Cultural Filarmonía, a cultural association dedicated to promoting philharmonic classical music through a radio station where he also directed and hosted a musical program called Mi Oído Izquierdo [My Left Ear]. He serves on the Board of Tate Americas Foundation and is a member of the Acquisitions Committee of North American and Latin American Art. At MALI, Verme is a member of the Contemporary Art Acquisitions Committee and the Formando Colecciones [Building Collections] program, a committee in charge of historical acquisitions since 1964. Since November 2012, he has served as the Vice President of the Fundación Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid, Spain. In 2015, Verme founded alongside Joel Yoss Proyecto Amil a mobile and non-commercial contemporary art project based in Lima that aims to bridge the local and international art scenes.
