María Bilbao–Herrera is an artist and photographer, born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She earned a degree in Interior Design at the Art Institute Fort Lauderdale, and a Master's in Art Direction from the Elisava School of Design in Barcelona.
Upon graduation, Maria attended the International Center of Photography in New York, where she was awarded the Rita K Hillman prize for excellence. María is an artist/educator, and new media artist. She explores new media and technologies through photography, video, performance, and installation.
In addition to her artistic practice, she is passionate about teaching in the field of image creation, its understanding and appreciation. Her works are in private collections in New York, Bogota, Florence, and Caracas.
She currently lives and works in Caracas, Venezuela.
