Mauricio Marcin Álvarez
Mauricio Marcin Álvarez (Tapachula, Mexico, 1980) works in the Museo Experimental El Eco as a curator and researcher. In 2015 he co-founded Aeromoto, a public library specializing in contemporary art. In 2014 he edited the book Las ideas de Gamboa, which was presented at the opening of the Jumex Museum in Mexico City, and in 2013 he participated in the Mercosur Biennial, Porto Alegre where he collaborated on the re-presentation of Juan José Gurrola’s Monoblock.
Between 2007 and 2012 Marcin Álvarez was the curator of Clauselito, a room of projects in the Museum of the City of Mexico where works by Saúl Villa Fernando García Correa, Ricardo Alzati, Edgar Orlaineta, Alejandro Magallanes, Ariel Guzik, Marcela Armas, Iker Vicente, Juan Pablo Villegas, Tatiana Musi, Ale de la Puente, Verónica Gerber, Luis Felipe Ortega, Jonathan Miralda, Duo DEAR and Marcos Castro were exhibited.
Marcin was also the editor of the book Artecorreo (2011) and curator of the homonymous exhibition, shown at the Museum of the City of Mexico (2009) and the Philatelic Museum of Oaxaca (2011). In 2011 he participated in the mobile home Capacete in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro, and did a curatorial residency in Casa M in the 8th Mercosul Biennial (2011).
Currently he is researching the Aparente movement.
