May Agontinme

May Agontinme, born in Campinas (SP) in 1993, lives and works in the east side of São Paulo (SP). Agontinme is an artist, educator, and art historian. As an artist, she develops her research based on contemporary textile techniques, focusing on crochet and understanding it as ancestral craftwork. She participated in the group exhibition Vozes Agudas (2021), organized by the feminist art collective of the same name at Galleria Jaqueline Martins, and in the residence Mulheres Múltiplas (2021). She had her works featured at the SP Arte fair, represented by the plataform 0101. Agontinme is a member of the women artists collective Nacional Trovoa and has works featured in numerous private collections.
