Solita Mishaan

Solita Mishaan was born in Caracas and has dual citizenship from Venezuela and Spain. She has a degree in Literature and a degree in Law from, respectively, the Universidad Católica and the Universidad Santa María, both in Caracas, and has a Master’s in Political Science from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Mishaan began collecting art in 1985 with an emphasis in contemporary Latin American works, and has been on committees and boards at a number of international art institutions including Tate, MoMA, the Miami Art Museum and the Museo del Prado, among others. She established the nonprofit MISOL foundation in Bogotá, Colombia, to help develop and globally disseminate the art of Colombia and Latin America.
