Overview of Loans Program
Since 1999, the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros (CPPC) has provided hundreds of long- and short-term loans to institutions across the globe. These loans have been drawn from all five CPPC collections: Modern, Contemporary, Colonial Period, Orinoco, and Traveler Artists.
Notable short-term loans include Feliciano Centurión's Pulpo violeta (1993), shown at the 13th Shanghai Biennale, and a significant number of works that were featured in six institutions simultaneously throughout Southern California during the 2011 program Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA.
Our works have also been showcased in long-term exhibitions in museums like the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Perhaps one of the CPPC's most iconic artworks, Jesús Soto's Penetrable (1990), has been loaned to multiple institutions throughout the years including MALBA in Buenos Aires (2003–2004); Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City (2006); LACMA in Los Angeles (2011–2017); Olana State Historic Site in Hudson , NY (2017–2018); and the Hispanic Society Museum & Library in New York City beginning the Summer of 2023.
