Modern Art
See highlights from the collection below.
The core of modern art in the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros [CPPC] consists of works by Latin American artists of the twentieth century, particularly the major figures of geometric abstraction movements in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Responding to an open and interactive vision of Latin America that extends beyond national borders, the CPPC also includes a referential ensemble of pieces by European and North American artists whose production is ever present in the dialogue between artists of the region and the history of Western art.
Whether produced in Latin America or elsewhere, by artists of the region or of other nationalities, abstract or figurative, what ties these works together in the heart of a single collection is the vision of a Latin America that is broad, diverse and profoundly integrated into the history of world art.
