Lecture Panel "Traveler Artists in Latin America: Highlights from the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection & Exhibition" with Dr. Katherine Manthorne, Graduate Center, CUNY; Dr. Gabriel Perez-Barreiro, Director and Chief Curator, Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros; Theodore Barrow; Caroline Gillaspie; Alison Petretti; and Alice Walkiewicz

In conjunction with the exhibition Boundless Reality at the galleries of Hunter College and the Americas Society, this presentation takes the audience on an imaginary expedition through Mexico and South America via the presentation of stunning 19th century landscapes done by Traveler Artists. We look at the Mayan ruins in Yucatan, the soaring peaks of the Andes, and the coast of Peru with commentary by four authors who wrote about them in the new catalogue of the Cisneros collection.
