Drawn primarily from the paintings, sculptures, and works on paper donated to the MoMA by the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros between 1997 and 2016, Sur moderno celebrates the arrival of the most important donation of abstract and concrete art from Latin America by dedicating an entire suite of galleries on the Museum’s third floor to the display of works by artists from Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, and Uruguay.

MoMA will reopen to the public on August 27, 2020, with new hours for the first month, through September 27: from 10:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday to the public; and from 10:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Mondays for Museum members only. Admission will be free to all visitors Tuesday through Sunday, through September 27. For more information visit
