Workshop Synopsis:
The workshop Values and tactics in a changing landscape, organized in conjunction with the fifth edition of Seminario Fundación Cisneros, After landscape: perspectives and traces of the traveler, seeks to introduce participants to the various career opportunities within the broad spectrum of contemporary art in practical ways.

As a starting point, it will examine the motivations and expectations related to mobility within artistic practice, then introduce diverse opportunities according to different professional, disciplinary and even conceptual profiles.

This session aims to develop tools for artists to identify the programs that best suit their modes of production, research interests and work values. It explores mobility not only as a form of professional development, but also in its ethical and aesthetic dimension.

During the afternoon, the second session will focus more specifically on tactics, methodologies and formal issues related to applications, programs, residencies, grant applications, or other supports that contribute to mobility. How to present your practice, write an application, structure a portfolio and organize the various requirements that commonly constitute such calls for submissions will be some of the topics that will be addressed.

Participants should bring their artist’s statement of no more than 200 words and a digital portfolio of their practice as a requirement for some of the exercises that will take place during the workshop.
